The Unicoi Economic Development Board exists to support existing businesses, develop new business and economic opportunities for Unicoi County and it's ccommunities and provide information and incentives to site seekers and businesses of all types. Unicoi County is a gateway to the strategic corridor of Interstate 26 and CRX Rail serving a days access of logistic commerce transport to over 75 percent of the population of North America.

In the ancient cradle of the Unaka mountains lies a heritage of community, spirit and adventure. Surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest, Unicoi, (a native american word for smoky or foggy) is a pure example of what the true Smoky Mountains were to our nations first frontiersmen.

620,000 acres were set aside for the Cherokee Naional Forest by the federal government and were soon supplanted with the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Since then, Unicoi County has become the secret of every trail hiker, camper and family seeking adveture.

The location along the most verdant and wild sections of our national natural lands allow us to leave work at the end of the day and seek that big trout in the fly stream, buck in the mountains or hole in one at the course. Our natural lands are a vacation within minutes. Weekends become cherished time close to home.
